The reality today

The challenges facing Zambia's farmers

Millions of farmers work tirelessly every season, yet many still struggle because they lack access to timely information, profitable markets, modern tools, and digital services.

The digital divide

A large share of Zambia's smallholder farmers don't own a smartphone. WEMAT is built to work over SMS and a basic web browser too, not just an app.

Language barriers

Many rural farmers speak a local language day-to-day, not English. WEMAT supports 10 languages so information reaches people the way they actually speak.

Limited market access

Without visibility into prices elsewhere, farmers often sell to the first buyer at the farm gate — usually not the best price available that day.

Limited agricultural services

Trusted agro-dealers, transport, and weather intelligence remain hard to reach in many rural communities.

Our mission

Technology that pays off at harvest

To empower every farmer with accessible technology that improves productivity, increases income, and builds sustainable agricultural communities.

Goal: reach 100,000 farmers by December 2027.

Looking ahead: we're exploring expansion beyond Zambia into Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, and Tanzania — not yet live, but part of where we want WEMAT to go.
