Frequently asked

Questions we hear most often.

If you don't see your question here, reach out through the contact page and we'll answer directly.

Is WEMAT really free for farmers?

Yes. Checking prices, comparing markets, getting price predictions, using disease detection, and booking transport all cost nothing for a farmer account.

Where do the crop prices come from?

Prices are entered per market and crop and reflect what's actually being recorded that day. Where a market hasn't reported yet, we show the most recent price available rather than guessing.

How accurate is the disease detection?

It's a starting point, not a replacement for an agronomist. It compares the symptoms you describe against a reference database of known crop diseases and suggests the most likely match and treatment — always confirm anything serious with a local extension officer.

Do I need a smartphone or data to use it?

The website works on any phone with a browser and a basic data connection. Notifications about prices and bookings also come through SMS, so you don't need to keep the app open.

How does transport booking work?

You submit a pickup point, drop-off point, and what's being moved. A registered transporter confirms, and the trip moves through requested → confirmed → in transit → completed, visible from your dashboard the whole way.

How do agro dealers get listed?

Register as an agro dealer, set up your shop details, and list products with prices and stock status. Farmers browsing the marketplace or searching nearby shops will see your listings.

Can I use WEMAT in a language other than English?

Language support is expanding — the platform is built to support multiple languages, and SMS notifications can be delivered in the language tied to your account where available.

Is my phone number or data shared with anyone?

Your contact details are only shared with a transporter or agro dealer when you initiate a booking or enquiry with them directly — not published or sold elsewhere.
